A Royal Melbourne Country Club Wedding | Janae and Mike

A sunset wedding photo taken at the 18th Green at Royal Melbourne Country Club in Long Grove, Illinois.

When I asked Janae to describe her husband-to-be, she said that Mike is “the most genuine, kind, and loyal person I’ve ever met”. Their connection is incredibly deep and their love is true and strong. This Royal Melbourne Country Club wedding was truly a magical day where I was able to witness and capture this couple on the happiest day of their lives!

The couple started off the day both getting ready at the Westin Hotel in Wheeling. With their large wedding party in tow, they both had an easy-going, fun morning to get ready with some of their closest people. The couple wanted to have a first-look moment before the ceremony. It was an incredibly special moment where tears were shed and nerves were calmed before the big moment!

Janae and Mike are Catholic and wanted to have a full Catholic mass for their ceremony. The ceremony was held at St Mary of Vernon Catholic Church in Chicago and was a beautiful and elegant ceremony.

Royal Melbourne Country Club Reception

When the ceremony was finished, we headed to the reception venue to take photos. The Royal Melbourne Country Club is an amazing wedding venue. It is surrounded by beautiful vistas, ponds, and bright green fairways of the golf course. There are panoramic windows in the ballroom that offered stunning views of the prairies and wetlands nestled in the greens. The weather was absolutely perfect and the wedding party of twenty individuals made this time for photos a wonderful experience.

Then the party began! Janae and Mike wanted to have a non-traditional wedding reception. They had the band playing as soon as they entered the reception hall and had mini-dance parties throughout the whole evening, even between courses! The energy on the dance floor was incredible! I even had a special moment of bumping into parents of past clients of mine! It was such a wonderful reunion!

This Royal Melbourne Country Club wedding was one for the books! I wish Janae and Mike all the best as they head to Mexico on their mini-moon and then their official honeymoon to Europe in the summer!
