Jessica and Grant | A Beautiful Tradition

Holy Name Cathedral Wedding

A wedding tradition that has stood the test of time is not allowing the groom to see the bride’s dress before the wedding day. This was a tradition that was very special for Jessica and Grant as they prepared for their wedding day. This Holy Name Cathedral wedding had all the traditional elements and made this day truly beautiful and special. I got to capture some special moments before the ceremony of the bride, Jessica, getting ready with her bridesmaids and then putting together the finishing touches while wearing her gorgeous designer gown.

Holy Name Cathedral Wedding Ceremony

There are certain venues that take your breath away when you enter them and Holy Name Cathedral is one of them. Just down the street from Loyola University, this 19th-century Roman Catholic Church boasts incredible history and architecture. It was the perfect backdrop for the celebration that was taking place that day.

When I asked the couple what they were most excited about on the wedding day, Jessica said that she could not wait to see Grant’s face as she walked down the aisle for the first time. This moment did not disappoint. Although no tears were shed, it was very visible that Grant’s emotions were high. He was seeing the woman he was just about to marry and he could not wait.

After the ceremony, we headed out to capture the newlyweds and their wedding party. We hopped on a trolley and headed to the RiverWalk. The wedding party was so much fun. We partially block off LaSalle Street to capture the Chicago Board of Trade Building in the background. This session not only got to highlight the newlyweds and wedding party but got to feature some of Chicago’s finest spots. It was such a special memory for all involved.

Wedding Reception at King Arthur Court at InterContinental

The InterContinental is located in the heart of the Magnificent Mile. It is one of the most jaw-dropping venues in the area. Boasting 16-foot ceilings, historic chandeliers, murals, and carvings, this place offers an incredible environment for your wedding. Jessica and Grant wanted a more traditional and formal day and the King Arthur Court was the perfect place for that wish to come true.

Jessica and Grant, this day was to remember! Your love shone through every element of the day and I wish nothing but the best as you start your lives together (and celebrate not having to plan a wedding anymore!)
