Chicago History Museum Wedding: Maggie and Matt

Maggie and Matt’s wedding at the Chicago History Museum was a perfect blend of grandeur and intimacy, offering an impressive yet welcoming atmosphere ideal for stunning wedding photography. The grand architecture and picturesque outdoor spaces of this prestigious institution transformed their wedding into a work of art, capturing the essence of their love story in every photograph.

These lovebirds are the absolute sweetest! I first met Maggie when she was a bridesmaid at Micheala and Scott‘s wedding, which I photographed a couple of years ago. From the moment Maggie started sharing her wedding plans with me, I knew it was going to be a spectacular event, and I was not disappointed! Their elegant wedding at the Chicago History Museum was simply gorgeous.

Outdoor Wedding Ceremony at Chicago History Museum

After their touching first-look moment on the grand staircase, it was time for the ceremony! The plaza outside the Chicago History Museum, with the captivating backdrop of Lincoln Park, was absolutely stunning. The ceremony was sweet and emotional, filled with both laughter and tears. Maggie looked radiant in her classic yet modern wedding dress, perfectly paired with her timeless veil.

Maggie’s veil had a special story of its own, making its 21st wedding appearance. Her grandmother purchased the veil in Vienna in 1956. It has been worn by many relatives on their wedding days. Maggie helped restore the veil in anticipation of her wedding. Though her grandma passed away a few weeks before the wedding, her love and spirit were present, carried on through the veil.

Wedding Reception at The Chicago Room

Maggie and Matt’s wedding reception at the Chicago Room in the Chicago History Museum was a pure joy. The reception started with an energetic entrance by the newlyweds, who then shared their first dance. After their first dance, the bride and groom joined their parents in emotional parent dances. The stunning architecture and unique historical context provided a perfect backdrop for Maggie and Matt to celebrate their love story. Exceptional service and a thoughtfully curated atmosphere ensured every guest felt welcome and part of the story.

The live band at the reception was phenomenal! I love it when couples have live music, and the Funktastic Productions was next level. Killer music and a packed dance floor, with guests even jamming with the band, made the celebration electric.

The reception space and details were jaw-dropping, and Maggie and Matt were absolutely wonderful.

A Heartfelt Thank You

I am so grateful to have clients who completely trust me and are laid back on their wedding day. What truly touched me throughout the day was the raw and undeniable love between Maggie and Matt. It’s a love that transcends distance, a love that brings people together, a love that sings out for the world to hear. Witnessing and documenting such genuine affection is a privilege I hold dear.

Maggie and Matt, thank you for inviting me into such a special season of your life. I am incredibly grateful for you both and I hope you enjoy some of my favorite moments as much as I do!
