Allyse and Jordan’s Engagement Session at The Lilly Pool

As a photographer, I have had the chance to capture love through my camera lens in various beautiful settings. However, there was something special about Allyse and Jordan’s engagement session at the Lilly Pool in Lincoln Park that knocked me out of the water. I’m excited to share with you the story behind these two love birds and set the scene for their upcoming wedding day.

Finding Each Other the Traditional Modern Way

Just a few months before the pandemic took control of our daily lives, Allyse and Jordan met on the Hinge dating app. After chatting with each other for a bit, they were both excited to meet one another.
Allyse and Jordan’s first date occurred at Restoration Hardware, where they enjoyed a meal and laughed, as they played the Price is Right on all the furniture while sipping chilled wine. Their first date was so pleasant that neither of them wanted it to come to an end. So, rather than parting ways after dinner and games, they decided to continue their date at a nearby bar.
In a somewhat unconventional sequence of events, the couple went ring shopping together months before officially getting engaged. Their excitement led to planning their future wedding and researching venues. They eventually booked the venue, band, and photographer before the official proposal!
The proposal ended up happening unexpectedly during a walk in Lincoln Park. Despite initial suspicions, it was a joyful moment captured through a hidden camera lens. The couple later celebrated with their parents and close friends at the J Parker rooftop. They laughed, shared stories, and enjoyed food and drinks.

Fun Engagement Session at the Lilly Pool

With August 9th, 2024, marked on their calendar, this couple is bubbling with anticipation for their wedding day. What’s got them most pumped? The band and, of course, the dancing! Despite not being skilled dancers, they’re looking forward to having a blast and being themselves on the dance floor. Jordan is particularly excited to see Allyse do the Horah, anticipating both her nervousness and exhilaration during the dance.
Allyse and Jordan were a breath of fresh air! I had a wonderful time getting to know them and enjoyed how easy it was to talk to kindred souls. The entire time was playful and we had a great time together. I am very much looking forward to their wedding next summer. Here are a few photos of their FUN Engagement Session at the Lily Pool in Lincoln Park and the North Ave Beach!
