From meeting online in the spring of 2019 to this Cantigny Park engagement session four years later, Beth and James have a lot to celebrate. The couple has such a calm personality and I really got to see their love shine bright during this engagement session.
These two could not have been more fun to hang with – and it shows! They are so relaxed and relatable and have been such a pleasure to work with. I felt like we’ve known each other for years. We also found out that we live in the same suburb of Chicago!
A cold and wet spring brings a lot of worry to a photographer that relies on beautiful outdoor spaces for shoots. I was a little bit worried about how our location had held up in this cold spring. Of course, Cantigny Park could not be any nicer. There were so many flowering trees and fields with flowers. The day brought a lovely glow to our pictures and allowed me to capture the couple in the most dreamy golden-hour time. Photographing engagement sessions in spring at Cantigny Park is kind of a photographer’s dream.
This couple has spent the last four years growing incredibly close to one another. From the first few weeks of them dating, it had felt like they had known each other forever. James knew that Beth wanted a private proposal. So, on an ordinary day, James asked Beth if she wanted a ring pop. When she opened the ring pop, there was an origami box with the ring inside! It was such a sweet, intimate moment.
The couple is so excited to spend their wedding day with family and friends and throw an amazing party with some delicious food! They are getting married at Hyatt Lodge in Oak Brook this summer and I cannot wait to celebrate them!
