A trend that I am starting to see with couples is that during the pandemic, they chose to have a very small, intimate ceremony with their close family and friends. However, now that things are starting to return to normal, they are beginning to plan big celebrations as they reunite with their loved ones. That is the case with Sara and Dan who had such a beautiful Elements at Water Street Wedding.
Sara and Dan met in high school but started dating later after being friends for a while. Through the last seven years, they have built such a beautiful and strong relationship.
I started off this day with the bride, Sara, at the Hotel Indigo in Naperville. This was the perfect place for the bridal party to get ready as it is conveniently located near downtown Naperville and the famous Naperville Riverwalk.
Although the couple did not want to do a first look, they spent time together before their reception and we got to take some incredible photos around the Naperville Riverwalk. The weather was overcast but it held off and everyone was having a great time!
A wedding ceremony at Elements at Water Street
The night was meant to just be a reception in celebration of their previous wedding ceremony during the pandemic but Sara and Dan wanted to do something no one expected. They planned a wedding ceremony right before the reception! It was a complete surprise and was extremely emotional for everyone.
Dan wanted the reception to be one of the best parties and that it was! A great time spent with loved ones celebrating the marriage in a fun way! The venue was located on the second floor of the Hotel Indigo and had a dance floor that was perfect for the party.
I wish Sara and Dan all the best as they start this new chapter in their lives. I’m so grateful I got to capture an emotional celebration!
