Suzy and JD’s Intimate Wedding at theWit

Suzy and JD’s winter wedding at theWit in downtown Chicago was nothing short of a perfect dream for an intimate celebration!

From our initial meeting, it was evident that their vision for the big day was centered around joy, warmth, and love. Opting for a small and intimate gathering resonated perfectly with their preferences. As the chosen photographer for their Chicago wedding, I was excited about documenting this chic, stylish, and undeniably elegant affair.

Setting the Scene for a Wedding at theWit Hotel

The day began with Suzy and her bridesmaids getting ready in a suite at theWit. This boutique hotel, renowned for its contemporary elegance and city views was an ideal spot to capture those intimate pre-wedding moments.

Breaking away from tradition, Suzy and JD opted for a “first look” on the rooftop. The Chicago skyline made for an awesome backdrop to catch the real vibes between the two. The emotional moment hit Suzy hard, leaving her with teary eyes and a heart full of emotion, and set the vibe for the entire day.

Wedding Elegance at the Art Institute of Chicago

Before the ceremony, we ventured into the Art Institute of Chicago to take photos with the couple. What distinguishes this location is its versatility. It allowed us to seamlessly transition between indoor and outdoor shots within the same venue – an ideal choice for couples seeking captivating portraits in the winter season.

The spiral staircase offered a stylish setting for their indoor portraits, while the Nicholas Bridgeway provided an ideal setting for outdoor photos against the stunning views of the Chicago skyline. To me, the spiral staircase is a masterpiece that provides a truly enchanting backdrop that elevates the art of wedding photography to new heights.

Wedding Ceremony and Reception at theWit

The wedding ceremony unfolded in the Gateway room at theWit. Amidst the towering skyscrapers of downtown Chicago, Suzy and JD exchanged vows in an intimate setting. The celebration continued with a cozy cocktail hour on the rooftop for their wedding guests, while the couple cut their wedding cake in private.
