I had a brilliant time photographing Kristine and Mike’s engagement session; they have this amazing synergy about them that’s truly a joy to document. I couldn’t wait for their wedding to roll around because I knew we’d have a blast and our collaboration would result in some amazing images. It goes without saying but, I was not disappointed!

As Kristine’s father said during his heartfelt toast, “Today two math specialists proved that 1+1=1.” What a perfect way to sum up their union! Kristine and Mike are true individuals alight with love for one another, and it exudes from them, infusing everyone around them with a sense of happiness and joy!

Anyway, back to the big day…It was a rare 75°F (a mid-summer novelty, for sure!), there wasn’t a lick of humidity in the air, no wind and it was bright and sunny. Kristine and Mike opted against a First Look and set their sights on each other for the first time that day at St. Joan of Arc Church in Lisle, IL.

Following the ceremony, we took a timeout to take some family portraits. After capturing a variety of fun and formal shots, we jumped on the party bus and let the festivities ensue! We detoured at Cantigny Park – one of my favorite Chicago photo destinations. There were actually 10 wedding parties there with the same idea, so obviously, others share the sentiment!

The entire evening was a roaring success. The guests had a fabulous time in the photo booth and spend the remainder of the evening laughing, dancing and jotting warm wishes and sweet notes in Kristine and Mike’s scrapbook. I think Kristine’s father summed it up (pun intended!) during his speech but truly, these two are the perfect match.
