I love how the summer months bring warmer weather and a beautiful glow to my sessions. Everyone in the city is happy and that stayed true in this summer Chicago engagement session with Lauren and Mike. This couple had a wonderful warmth and welcoming presence around them and I could see how excited they were to get married later this year after waiting for the pandemic to slow down.

Lauren and Mike met through mutual friends at a dock where Mike keeps his boat. Lauren also had a friend who stored a boat at the dock. They met one day while she was visiting. From starting out with casual hangouts at the water to becoming closer with one another, this couple has always found that there was something special between them. For Lauren and Mike, life began to mesh perfectly together. A friend group started to form that became a big supporter for the couple. They can’t imagine life without one another!

Before a trip to Italy, Mike planned a proposal with their close friend group on a boat ride to City Winery. After they had docked, Mike got down on one knee and popped the big question. After the yes came, they celebrated with all their close ones and then headed off to Italy for a vacation the next day. What a way to celebrate!

Lauren and Mike are getting married this September. After postponing a few times due to COVID and moving from a destination wedding to a Chicago wedding, this couple is ready to tie the knot! I could not think of a better way to celebrate than with this summer Chicago engagement session. I wish this couple all the best as they prepare to celebrate their love with their friends and family!
