One of my favorite aspects of shooting weddings is finding incredible locations that enable stunning photos to take place. This Milwaukee wedding at the Filament was just that. Full of incredible architecture, this backdrop was absolutely perfect to capture the wedding of Tara and Nick.
Tara and Nick are one another’s best friends. The amount of trust and respect that was shown between these two was undeniable. Tara described Nick as a person who always has her back and can solve any problem. Those qualities in a partner are so important and I was so glad to hear that!
I started off the day by heading to the Hilton Garden Inn in Milwaukee where Tara was getting ready with her mom and two sisters. After that, we headed down to the lobby that features a beautiful staircase where we had the first look. This weekend was a very busy weekend for Milwaukee. The USA triathlon was happening in the area we wanted to shoot which made it hard to find a place to stop and shoot at but as luck would have it, we found a beautiful spot out of the rain.

Tara and Nick wanted their wedding to be a simple celebration. One that was elegant but simple and really reflected the architecture of the space. The Filament in Milwaukee was the perfect choice for their wedding. Natural and rustic, this space didn’t need many additions with decorations but felt like the ideal choice.
Tara and Nick’s wedding day was one of the most relaxed wedding days I’ve ever been a part of. This couple truly knew how to keep it simple and light. The love that I saw between the couple and their family was undeniable and I’m so glad I got to capture it.
I wish Tara and Nick all the best as they head to St. Lucia on their honeymoon and continue to grow deeper with one another in their relationship.
