This weekend, I had the privilege of shooting a La Grange Country Club Wedding for the wonderful Audrey and Joe. As I watched this couple commit their lives to one another and got to witness their family and friends celebrating, I could not help but get the sense that this couple had an incredible foundation of support and were off to an amazing start in this new chapter of their lives.
I had met the couple back in 2019 when I captured Joe’s brother’s wedding. We got reunited this past winter when they reached out to me about their own wedding. During that time, we were in the second wave of COVID-19 cases and were not sure how things were going to end up, but this couple always had a positive spin and were still hopeful for a beautiful summer wedding. They were totally right! Their La Grange Country Club wedding was a huge success.
To start the day off, I headed to Audrey’s parents’ house, where I was greeted with open arms by Audrey and her wedding party. These ladies were so excited to celebrate their sweet friend as she prepared for her ceremony. Emotions and excitement were high as Audrey changed into her wedding gown and showed her bridesmaids. I couldn’t help but notice the smile that was shining on her mother, Virginia’s face. The makeup artist helped her with the final touches and put her flower piece in her hair and she was ready to head off to the ceremony.
Our Lady of Mount Carmel Chicago Wedding
The ceremony took place at the stunning Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Chicago. When we headed to the ceremony, the weather felt hot and humid but then changed during the ceremony. The rain, fortunately, did not come until during their ceremony. It was an intimate ceremony that celebrated their love for one another and those around them. I was so thankful to see so many families and friends surrounding them.
We then headed to the reception at La Grange Country Club. The weather had turned back to a gloriously sunny day. The setting was absolutely perfect to celebrate this new couple. One of my favorite moments of this time was to sneak away with the couple at sunset. I was amazed at how their personalities just shone through in these pictures and how they really felt like it was just them and were totally and completely in love.
Audrey and Joe, I am so grateful to have met you and to witness you start this new chapter of your lives together. I wish you all the best!
